BEVERAGE TESTING INSTITUTE, CHICAGO, IL
“Corazón Blanco and Reposado are the highest rated tequilas for their category in the year 2000, achieving exceptional quality and distinctive merit. Corazón Blanco is the highest rated blanco tequila ever by the BTI.”
CABO GOOD TIMES
“Blanco: Full intensity up front with comforting mouth feel. Attack is soft with mellow yet complex agave plant flavors…”Reposado”: A silky intensity fills the mouth with a medium attack. Moderate agave flavor is sweet on the entry with rich caramel highlighted by ginsend earthiness”
THE SPIRIT JOURNAL, SEPTEMBER 2001
“The color is an extra virgin olive oil gold—impeccable purity; the seductive opening aromatic blast is slightly salty…contribute lovely fragrances of soft vanilla, mint, light toffee and green tea—in the fourth and final inhalation a sweet brininess overshadows all other aromatic elements, save for the ripe agave—a multilayered bouquet of the first rank; sweet, viscous at palate entry, then at midpalate the taste turns off-dry, intensely vegetal, and resiny/oily; the after-taste is brief, sappy sweet, and a touch caramelly; like the Blanco it is lick-smacking sweet, but tasty, even savory; drink on the rocks with a healthy twist of lime to counter the sweetness”
ROBB REPORT, AUGUST 2001
“Corazón’s tequilas also benefit from the sweet taste of new oak, but they are aged in toasted barrels. Thus tannins and caramel are manifest in Corazón’s Reposado, aged five to eight months rather than the minimum of two months. The double-distilled flavor is complex and sophisticated, mixing dried fruits with cedar. Corazón’s blanco is thick and loaded with the spicy tang of agave and lime.”
NIGHTCLUB & BAR MAGAZINE, JUNE 1002
“Corazón 100-Percent Blue Agave Tequila is made in the high altitudes of the Arandas Mountains. It is available in two versions. The Blanco has an earthy, herbal quality that is very pleasant. Corazón de Agave Reposado is unusually dark for a reposado, and is aged in oak barrels for seven to eight months. The tequilas are packaged in striking hand-blown decanters.
