 to Receive 2008 Sky Ranch MVP Award!

Sky Ranch Foundation is honored to announce that Jennifer Robinson will accept the 2008 MVP Award on October 13 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Jennifer is COO of Oxford Publishing, Inc., a Division of  Questex Media Group, Inc. She has a distinguished career of close to 10 years of service to Sky Ranch and the beverage industry.   Jennifer’s responsibilities have included overseeing the largest beverage and food event in the U.S. known simply as “The Show”, held annually in Las Vegas. Last year, International Hospitality Week was launched as the umbrella brand creating a broader horizon with co-located shows reaching all aspects of the hospitality industry.

“The Show” has become an important focus for Sky Ranch support, featuring the annual “Vino Las Vegas” tasting event. “Vino Las Vegas” is the largest annual wine-focused event dedicated to Sky Ranch in the United States. Sky Ranch Foundation also frequently holds its Annual Meeting and Hall of Fame dinner in conjunction with The Show. The trade show space donated to Sky Ranch by Oxford Publishing has helped Sky Ranch maintain high visibility and make new friends from all segments of the alcohol beverage industry.

According to Sky Ranch Foundation President, Ralph Aguera, “Four years ago, Jennifer helped us expand our event calendar by creating an opportunity for our MVP dinner during Oxford’s East Coast edition of Nightclub & Bar Show. The MVP dinner has become an increasingly important new source of support for Sky Ranch! Sky Ranch Foundation is very grateful for the support we get from Jennifer and the whole Oxford Publishing team. She’s the perfect candidate for our MVP honor!”

The award will be presented on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Trump’s Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The reception and dinner will begin at 5:30 PM and should conclude by 8 PM. Tickets are priced at $200 each and include hosted bar, deluxe dinner and baseball memorabilia worth at least $50 for each guest! A reserved table for 8 is priced at $1,500.

The MVP award, a custom crafted baseball bat hand made at Sky Ranch for Boys, will be presented by former baseball great Frank Howard. “Frank has been a home run with our guests since the first MVP dinner in 2005. We're thrilled to have him back!”, said Mr. Aguera.

The dinner is the first evening event of the 2008 Nightclub and Bar Show - Atlantic City edition. Sky Ranch for Boys, which celebrates its 48th anniversary in 2008, is a unique 3,000-acre facility on the South Dakota/Montana border where troubled kids from all parts of America get a second chance and a fresh start. Through sports, arts, working with animals and even learning to fly a small plane, Sky Ranch helps kids find their natural gifts and take pride in them. Most boys advance at least 2 years in the grade level of their academic work during a one-year stay at Sky Ranch.

In 1961, members and friends of the alcohol beverage industry at all levels agreed to support the development of Sky Ranch. They formed the Sky Ranch Foundation, which has purchased the land, built the buildings, and provided annual cash support equal to 25 percent of the Sky Ranch budget. This 45+ year tradition has earned Sky Ranch the nickname, “the adopted charity of the alcohol beverage industry.”
