Camara Nacional de la Industria Tequilera
(The National Chamber for the Tequila Industry)
For the past decade, Francisco Soltero has been actively involved in the tequila industry. First, he served as the Representative of the Tequila Regulatory Council in the European Union and then he was recruited to work as the executive manager at the Mexican trade association that represents the Tequila producers, the National Chamber for the Tequila Industry (CNIT). In May of 2008 he became the organization’s Director General.
An economist from the ITESO, Mr. Soltero later obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the same prestigious university and subsequently a Masters in Decision Sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Soltero also worked for the Government of the Mexican State of Jalisco in several positions, the last of which was serving as the Director of Analysis and Information for the Governor of the State.
At the CNIT, Francisco Soltero has been in charge of coordinating the organization’s operation while developing projects that provide added value to its membership such as monitoring domestic and international developments that may have an impact on the industry, designing strategies to manage and respond to threats, coordinating an unprecedented effort to promote Tequila as a symbol of Mexico in the country and internationally, generating awareness within the sector and creating industry policies in regards to the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages, attracting business to its member companies and creating links and synergies between the Tequila industry and other distilled spirits industries from around the world.
