Drew Levinson lives each day with the notion that only those with a true passion for the beverage world will ultimately prosper. As the Beverage Development Director for Wirtz Beverage Nevada (formerly Deluca Liquor & Wine) he is tasked with creating and devising new programs for premier accounts throughout the Las Vegas market. “I really want to support our customers by developing a complete approach to their business, beyond just the cocktail and mixology component.” Drew’s background and experience has positioned him perfectly for this challenge.
After graduating with a Business Degree from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs NY, Drew returned to his home town of Aspen, CO where became part of the opening team at Jimmy’s Restaurant and Bar overseeing an award winning cocktail and spirits program. In 1999 he joined Steve Olson and the “AKA Winegeek” beverage consulting company where he coordinated and developed strategic spirits trainings and beverage programs throughout the country based out of their New York offices. One of their premier clients at the time was the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City NJ. When Borgata offered him the Beverage Manager position as part of their opening team Drew jumped at the opportunity. “The experience I gained while opening the Borgata was priceless. I truly believe that one year working in the casino beverage world is equivalent to four years in a traditional bar/restaurant environment.” It wasn’t long before the next chapter in Drew’s career became apparent when the world renowned Bellagio Resort, came calling.
In 2004, Drew joined the AAA Five Diamond Bellagio Resort as the Master Mixologist and Beverage Manager. As the pinnacle of Hotel/Casino beverage programs, Bellagio provided Drew new experiences and even greater challenges. Tasked with “raising the bar” while overseeing all aspects of development and operations within the Bellagio Beverage Department, his approach and understanding flourished.
Drew has won numerous accolades and awards including 2005 Star Chefs “Rising Star” and First Place in the 2006 Korbel Cocktail Competition. Drew and his cocktails have been featured in numerous publications including, People Magazine, Santé, Cheers, Men’s Fitness, America West Magazine, The LA Times, Food Arts, LV Review Journal and Vegas Magazine. Drew is a graduate of the Beverage Alcohol Resources Program with a “Bar Ready” Certification, currently the highest level of certification available in the country. In addition, Drew sits on the board and holds the position of Treasurer for the United States Bartenders Guild NV Chapter. Recently, Drew has completed a state of the art beverage training facility called the “Alchemy Room”. This “one of a kind” bar is devoted to creating a unique environment for education and training of Wirtz Beverage’s premiere accounts.
It is with these valuable experiences that Drew thrives in his current role as Beverage Development Director for Wirtz Beverage Nevada. As an outside “consultant” for Wirtz’s premier clients, he is dedicated to providing superior training, education, design, cocktail, and product knowledge along with his energy and passion for the industry.
