Ben Montgomery is an enterprise reporter for the St. Petersburg Times and founder of the narrative journalism Web site Gangrey.com.
He was born and raised in Oklahoma and studied journalism at Arkansas Tech University, where he played football for the Wonder Boys. He has worked for newspapers in Arkansas, Texas, New York and Florida and lectured on narrative storytelling across the country.
He has won several journalism awards, including the 2008 Association of Food Journalists' best news story for his article about celebrity chef Robert Irvine's resume padding.
Mr. Montgomery lives in Tampa with his wife and children.
